Sustainability Programmes

Our sustainability programs help us systematically meet expectations from stakeholders while addressing the sustainability challenges of our business. Through these programs, we impact many SDGs, with our core contribution to SDGs 8 and 3 where we aim to have transformational impact.

The programs are grouped into 3 categories:

Catalyzing the green energy transformation

Deployment of onshore renewables

  • We deploy onshore renewable energy technologies, including hydro power plant and solar PV. We have set a target to produce 1,000MW

Financing green

  • We use green financing instruments, including green bonds and green loans to progress our green transformation and build-out green energy
  • We expect to align with all aspect of Global Taxonomy Initiative GTI) Regional Action Plan for Southeast Asia (2017-2025), which will help financial firms classify economic activities that contribute to rising global temperatures

We strive to minimize our consumption of resources
through action plans and targets. We collaborate with
our peers, suppliers, and contractor to
improve recycling rates and reduce landfill disposal.

Workplace safety

It is fundamental right of every individual who works with us to work in a healthy, safe and secure condition. It is our duty to make sure that work is managed safely and risks are effectively mitigated.

  • Our company’s commitment to the health, safety and environment (HSE) system is well in place to qualify us for the international standards of QHSE excellence. ( ISO45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015)
  • Implementation of VANTAGE 10 Golden Rules.
  • Overall accumulative VANTAGE Manhours without LTI is 2,875,422 ( as at March 2021)

  • We implement a holistic approach to physical, social and psychological health and mental well-being at work. We offer our employee access to a range of services and activities in their work life, even while they’re working from home.

  • VANTAGE have taken important steps to support diversity in the workplace. We now have 30% of women as head of departments and will continue to support representation of diversity in the company.

  • As a trusted supply chain partner, we strive to assist and develop local Small Medium Enterprises (SME) business ecosystem s part of our contribution to the national domestic growth among SMEs.

  • We continue to contribute towards various economies by paying our taxes. We do this by ensuring that our direct contribution to economies is managed fairly

Addressing the sustainability impacts of the green energy transformation

Local communities

  • We strive to minimize our consumption of resources through action plans and targets. We collaborate with our peers, suppliers, and contractor to improve recycling rates and reduce landfill disposal. We raise employee awareness of sustainable practices through campaign and e-learning.

Reducing our Emissions

Flare Gas Recovery Unit

In an effort to reduce the carbon emission, VANTAGE offers Flare Gas Recovery specialized compression packages, which aim to recover and repurpose gasses and emissions, such as methane/LPGs and sulfur dioxide, that would normally be burned during the flaring process. The so-recovered gases can be reused within the facility’s fuel gas system, as a refinery feedstock or re-injection

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R)

Reducing waste, recycling and reusing (3R) are effective ways to decrease the generation of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. VANTAGE emphasis the 3R on managing waste in our offices and project locations.

Investing on Clean Energy

We aim towards producing 1,000MW renewable energy with Small Hydro Power Plant and Solar PV project.

Reducing electricity consumption

When we consume less power, we reduce the amount of toxic fumes released by power plant, conserve the earth’s natural resources and protect our ecosystem. We implement “switch off when not in use” campaign across our offices to help reducing carbon emission to environment.
